Boeing’s concerns related to its Starliner astronaut spacecraft programme continues. The aerospace giant reported a $257 million loss for its NASA space program in the second quarter of 2023. As the programme’s delay continues the to-date overrun costs has touched $1.5 billion. Boeing blamed its recent decision to indefinitely delay the first crewed Starliner launch for the loss. Starliner was scheduled to carry a pair of NASA astronauts to the International Space Station in late July. However, the mission was called off by Boeing as it discovered two new problems with Starliner which needed to be corrected. Earlier, Boeing’s Starliner development program also faced a series of disruptions.
