MUMBAI: After five road crash-related deaths were reported in five months on a smooth slope of the Western Express Highway at Goregaon East, the BMC carried out milling work to make the road surface rough.
The local police had written to the BMC to take measures as motorists were unable to control the speeds on this stretch– descending ramp of the Aarey flyover on the south-bound arm of WEH.
Four FIRs were registered at the Vanrai police station in connection with fatal crashes reported on this stretch between March and July. Besides this, there have been other crashes that left road users grievously injured.
