According to sources, peak power demand has increased manifold, resulting in burning of overhead power cables.
The residents believe that PSPCL has been propagating that they have been upgrading the power cables annually but it fails every year during sultry weather.
For the past three to four days, the power scenario has been disturbed and residents are experiencing blackouts during the nights.
