BENGALURU: In more signs that the two opposition parties are cosying up to each other, BJP and JD(S) on Friday together demanded that the government takeover the Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) on grounds of alleged irregularities, court verdicts and a recommendation by a joint house committee. BMIC was built and is owned by Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE).
At a joint press conference, former chief ministers Basavaraj Bommai of BJP and HD Kumaraswamy of JD(S) also demanded that the government recover Rs 1,325 crore which NICE “illegally” collected from motorists through road toll. They said he two parties will put up a united fight in and outside the legislature if the government does not acquiesce to their demand.
