Heavy Plates and Vessels Plant, a unit of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, despatched amine absorber column for Indian Oil Corporation Limited’s Mathura Refinery on Sunday evening.
The column was sent as per order for supply of nine columns for Panipat, Mathura, Haldia and Bongalgaon refineries with stringent specifications.
IOCL is required to manufacture 100% BS-VI fuels by April 2020 to reduce environmental pollution levels as per Auto Fuel Policy of 2025. In order to meeting the target, keeping the national importance of the project in view, BHEL took up the job as a challenge and delivered the column within seven months for Mathura Refinery against a normal cycle time of 12 to 14 months, a BHEL spokesman said.
