BENGALURU: Mindless cutting of the roots of an old Mayflower tree on Gangadhar Chetty Street in Ulsoor for TenderSURE works on the road has left residents fuming.
“The tree becomes very weak once its roots are cut off. In a couple of months or years during monsoon, the tree will get uprooted and fall. This is the reason why many trees get uprooted in the city,” a resident said.
Residents of the area fear the roots of all other trees on the line may also face the axe in due course of time.
“We tried to communicate with the people working on the site but nothing came out of it.
