BENGALURU: Tumakuru Road flyover, stretching from Goraguntepalya to Parle toll plaza, is likely to open for movement of heavy vehicles only by January next year.
Acting on the recommendations of a team of technical experts from the Indian Institute of Science, the National Highways Authority of India has started replacing old cables in the flyover’s spans with new prestressed cables to strengthen the structure so that it can carry more vehicular load. However, the work may take 5-6 months for completion. Replacing old cables and allied works along the 4-km flyover will cost Rs 30 crore.
