BENGALURU: Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya has requested the railways to revive the Anekal-Bidadi line that has been put into cold storage for over a decade.
In a discussion with Union minister of state for railways Darshana Jardosh on Friday, Surya said: “I underscored the possibility of exploring alternative route options for the Anekal-Bidadi railway line since it is passing through Bannerghatta forest area. SWR could explore the project’s feasibility through Kengeri-Talaghattapura-Gottigere-Huskur. This project can reduce city traffic, congestion at KSR Bengaluru City railway station, and provide an affordable transport system to thousands of people working in the industrial belt of Bidadi, Hosur, etc.”
On September 18, TOI carried the article, ’10 years after report, Anekal-Bidadi railway line still on paper’.
