BENGALURU: When fuel prices skyrocketed, many auto and car owners in the city had shifted to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) but their relief appears to have been short-lived.
CNG price is up from Rs 49.5 per kg in January 2021 to a record Rs 86 in Bengaluru, an increase of Rs 36.5. According to transport department records, there are 11,766 CNG-only and 22,669 petrol/CNG vehicles in the state. In Bengaluru, petrol is sold at Rs 101.9 per litre, while diesel costs Rs 87.8.
