Bengaluru: If you are driving an electric vehicle (EV) in the city and running low on charge, but at the same time you don’t know where the nearest charging station is, then the proposed Bescom app can be of help. This app, which will be released soon, will provide information regarding the location of charging stations in the city. Bescom is also pushing to open more EV charging stations to encourage people use electric vehicles, which would help in reducing air pollution.
A senior Bescom officer said, “In our process of creating awareness on using electric vehicles, we are ensuring that there are proper facilities available. The EV charging stations are important for people using electric vehicles. Whenever they run out of charge, it is difficult for them to recharge, as there are no facilities available. We have already set up numerous EV charging stations and in June around 12 stations will be inaugurated along with the launching of the app.”
