BENGALURU: Brace for a sweltering weekend as Bescom has announced scheduled power cuts over the next three days in several areas of western, southern, eastern, and northern Bengaluru over what has been termed “regular maintenance work” by the utility and Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (KPTCL).
Large swathes of the state, including capital Bengaluru and its tech corridor, have been reeling under severe power cuts over the last several days. With maintenance and repair work on power supply installations and infrastructure put on hold as Karnataka went into election mode effectively since February, the proverbial chickens have now come home to roost as frequent power cuts, sometimes for hours, are wreaking havoc.
