The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) today commemorated the 65th anniversary of the commissioning of its Nangal Hydel Channel (NHC) at the Nangal Dam. The channel was opened on this day in 1954 by then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
DK Sharma, Chairman, BBMB, said this channel had played a significant role in bringing about green revolution in northern India and was supplying water for irrigation and drinking.
