MUMBAI: The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report took a critical stand against MSEDCL, the state power company, for failing to resolve many consumer complaints on power outages, on installation of smart meters across state and need to reduce transmission losses which had surged in 2020-21.
The report also directed state departments to clear all electricity dues for MSEDCL to improve its financial health. On consumer grievance redressal, the report mentioned “that while MSEDCL resolved 83.8% of its billing complaints within the time stipulated in SoP, it could resolve only 31.3% of power failure complaints”.
