Guwahati: Assam government to provide exemption of Electricity Duty on electricity generated from renewable sources of energy by a consumer on captive consumption for a period of 3 years with effect from 1 April 2023.
The cabinet meeting on Friday has decided to prohibit production and use of drinking water bottles made of PET of less than 1 litre in volume and strict implementation of ban on Single Use Plastic in the State as per the Plastic Waste Management (Amendment) Rules, 2021.The ban will be placed in effect from 2 October 2023 with a 3 month transition period provided up to that date.
