On Saturday, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the 18 km stretch of Gopinathpur Nilgiri-Balasore passenger railway line. He also flagged off a newly introduced MEMU train.
Between Gopinathpur Nilgiri and Balasore, the MEMU train in the South Eastern Railway division will operate thrice a day.
Vaishnaw flagged off the train at Gopinathpur Nilgiri railway station. He said that each year, Odisha on average gets Rs 10,000 crore for the development of railway infrastructure under the present central government.
