Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday served notices on the Centre, Adani Group and the AP energy department and others on a petition challenging the AP energy department’s move to purchase power from the Solar Energy Corporation of India at a higher price.
The petition was filed by CPI state secretary K. Ramakrishna who alleged that though power was available at Rs 2.05 per unit in the market it was planning to buy at Rs 2.45 per unit from SECI. The Adani Group had entered into a pact to supply power with the Centre through SECI to the state. The court served notices on 10 respondents in all.
