VIJAYAWADA: Setting a new record, AP Genco thermal power wing has generated about 12994 mu from April to August.
This is nearly 20 percent more than the generation during the corresponding period last year. In fact, the weather conditions were not so conducive for the power generation at the thermal plants as coal stocks were completely soaked in the heavy rains. Braving such odds, Genco plants produced massive power helping the power utilities tide over the peak power demand.
Genco has been contributing nearly 45-50 percent of the total power demand in the state with increased Plant Load Factor (PLF).
