NEW DELHI: The state power distribution companies in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Bihar have committed to bringing in large reductions in their commercial and financial losses in the next four years to get disbursements under the second tranche of the Rs 1.25 lakh-crore Atmanirbhar Bharat assistance package. The north Telangana power distribution company aims to achieve zero revenue loss by fiscal 2025 from a loss of 81 paise per unit at the end of fiscal 2020. The utility’s aggregate technical and commercial (AT&C) losses were 37% in fiscal 2020, which it has committed to reduce to 15%, a senior government official said.
The state’s southern discom had a revenue gap of Rs 1.14 per unit, which is proposed to be reduced to 25 paise by FY24. Its AT&C losses are proposed to be lowered to 14% from 18.18%.
