AmpIn Energy Transition and JCAPCPL, a joint venture between Tata Steel & Nippon Steel, have formalized a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Under this agreement, AmpIn Energy Transition will provide 2.8 MWp of solar energy to JCAPCPL’s plant in Jamshedpur.
The pact was signed by Ujjal Chakraborti, Managing Director of JCAPCPL, and Pinaki Bhattacharyya, Managing Director and CEO of AmpIn Energy Transition, marking the commencement of the project’s implementation phase.
AmpIn Energy Transition will set up solar panels for JCAPCPL to harness solar power that will help in lowering its carbon emissions and furthering its sustainable business practices.
Mr. Chakraborti acknowledged the agreement’s significance, noting, “Partnering with AmpIn Energy Transition aligns with our commitment to more environmentally-friendly operations. We anticipate tangible results from this venture as we continue our pursuit of sustainability.”
On a similar note, Mr. Bhattacharyya mentioned, “Collaborating with JCAPCPL is an essential step in promoting the use of renewable energy in India. We intend to foster a more sustainable energy environment.”
Once the solar installations are operational, the energy produced will be integrated into JCAPCPL’s day-to-day operations.
