Amid opposition by a section of airport staff as well as the ruling LDF government in Kerala, the Adani Group has taken charge of the operation and management of the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on Thursday.

We are privileged to serve and welcome passengers to God’s Own Country filled with lush greenery, beautiful beaches, and exquisite cuisine,” the group said in a tweet, both in English and Malayalam, after the takeover.
The CPI (M)-led state government had tried its best to stall the takeover and last year the state assembly had passed a unanimous resolution against it.
