A day after 55 passengers were left behind on the Bengaluru airport while their plane took off, budget carrier Go First has apologised for the incident, stressing that it was “caused due to an inadvertent oversight”. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Tuesday sent a show cause notice to the carrier, highlighting “multiple mistakes” that could be easily avoided. In its statement, the airline further pointed out that “all concerned staff (would be) off the roster till the inquiry is going on.”
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to the passengers due to an inadvertent oversight in the reconciliation of flight G8 116, from Bengaluru to Delhi. Passengers were accommodated on alternate airlines to Delhi and onward to other destinations,” the statement reads. It has also announced a free ticket for affected travellers.
