HYDERABAD: A woman onboard a Hyderabad-bound Indigo flight being asked to shift from emergency exit seat as she could not speak either Hindi or English, which the crew spoke, sent social media into a frenzy on Sunday. According to the posts by a co-passenger, the woman was moved to another seat because she understood only Telugu.
The incident took place on flight 6E 7297 flight from Vijayawada to Hyderabad on September 16. While there were sharp reactions from many, others pointed out that it was fair enough to ask her to shift as in case of emergency it would be impossible to convey instructions to the passenger. IT minister KTR too took to Twitter to tell the airline to employ staff who know local languages.
