MUMBAI: Aircraft maintenance technicians working with government-owned Air India Engineering Services Ltd (AIESL) on Monday called off their strike, which had begun pan-India a week ago.
AIESL handles maintenance and repair jobs for private carrier Air India. In the course of a week, AIESl had handed out termination letters to about 30 technicians all of which was withdrawn after the technicians joined work around 5 pm, said a technician requesting anonymity.
Following their decision to end the strike, AIESL CEO Jose Mathew in a letter sent to the technicians on Monday said: “You have my assurance that the AIESL management will work towards fulfilling your demand in the shortest possible time period” .
