A Delhi court hearing the bail application of Shankar Mishra, the Air India passenger accused of urinating on a fellow passenger, said Monday that witnesses did not depose in favour of the police and noted that there were contradictions in their statements.
Additional Sessions Judge Harjyot Singh Bhalla, who pronounced the order on Mishra’s bail plea on Tuesday, made the observations after the prosecution argued that Mishra may influence witnesses in the case.
The judge said, “There is a contradiction today. Statement of complainant and (the co-passenger)… As on date, the witnesses are not deposing in your favour. Where is the question of now influencing them?”
