More than 150 cabin crew as well as pilots from Jet Airways have been shortlisted by Air India and are expected to join the government-owned airline in a fortnight. Meanwhile, some employees of the “temporarily-grounded” Jet Airways requested the Sahar police to file a first information report (FIR) against the airlines and the State Bank of India for non-payment of salaries. Jet Airways informed staffers on Tuesday that it could not fund the group’s mediclaim policy, which lapsed on April 30.
According to senior officials in Air India, the airline will hire a total of 1,200 cabin crew in phases. At present, it has shortlisted 541 cabin crew of which 150 are from Jet Airways employees and 50 from Vistara.
