The government is likely to extend the April 30 deadline to bid for Air India as the Covid-19 fallout has disrupted economic activities globally, an official has said.
This will be the second extension in the deadline since the government initiated the stake sale process in the debt-ridden carrier on January 27.
Initially, the deadline was March 17, which was extended to April 30 in view of the requests from interested bidders and the situation arising out of coronavirus.
“There is a case to extend the deadline given the current global and domestic situation,” the official said.
