It may sound bizarre but is true that in a district that has been nicknamed as “coal capital of India ” industries having coal as base fuel starve for coal.
The crisis has deepened since the coal companies failed to meet supply of coal for power plants, the Coal India Limited (CIL) has issued a directive to close e- auction of coal for local industries.
Jharkhand industries and Trade Association (ZITA) has expressed deep concern over the CIL directive and claims that if the matter is not resolved soon all major industries that depend on coal as fuel in Dhanbad and its surrounding districts would have to shut down.
