In accordance with the final orders made by the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) on the petition filed by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited in regard to additional surcharge payable by ‘open-access’ (OA) consumers (large industrial units), the additional surcharge payable for the period April 1 to September 30, 2021, has been marginally reduced.
As per the commercial circular issued by the PSPCL Chief Engineer/Commercial, the full OA consumers and partial OA consumers will pay an additional surcharge of Rs 1.16 per kWh for availing OA beyond the contract demand maintained with the distribution licensee while the partial OA consumers will be charged at the rate of Rs 0.83 per kWh for availing OA upto the contract demand maintained with the distribution licensee (PSPCL).
