Mumbai: Adani Transmission on Thursday said it has bagged a contract to install and maintain 10.8 lakh smart meters for BEST consumers between Colaba-Cuffe Parade and Sion-Mahim areas. Sources pegged the deal value at Rs 1,300 crore.
The smart meters, which will ensure that people can keep track of power consumption hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly, and also request for ‘Time of Day’ (ToD) tariffs in near future — will be installed over the next 30 months and maintained for the following 90 months. “We are confident to deliver this project as per expectations within a timely manner allowing BEST consumers to fully capitalize on the potential of digitalisation,” Kandarp Patel, Adani Transmission’s distribution CEO said.
