After a gap of nearly four years, Star Air is set to relaunch flights from Adampur civil airport near here from March 2. The first flight will take off for Hindon after a virtual launch of the same by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The relaunch of the flight was much awaited by NRIs and business community of the Doaba region. Owing to the issue of frequent jams and highway blockades in Punjab by farmers or other agitating communities, there had been a growing demand for the relaunch of flights from Adampur. Since Adampur had been covered under Udan, a regional connectivity scheme of the government, those booking the tickets well in advance can expect a lower airfare.
