Hyderabad: The prototype of the much-awaited AC electric buses arrived in the city on Monday. Telangana State Road Transport Corporation officials examined the bus and said 25 of them would soon be operational in the city.
VC Sajjanar, managing director of TSRTC, said in all 50 AC buses are expected and of this 30 will be put in the IT Corridor and 20 will be put on routes to the airport.
These 12m-long low-floor electric AC buses are packed with new features. All the 35 seats will have mobile charging facility and seat belt. Three CCTV cameras have been installed in each bus, with a recording backup of one month. There is also a reverse parking assistance camera.
