NEW DELHI: The Airports Authority of India Engineers Guild (AAIEG) on September 15 celebrated Engineers’ Day by “hailing” AAI’s highest-ever annual capital expenditure in 2022-23 at Rs 5,175 crore. This was spent on augmenting airport facilities, upgrading technology and improving operational efficiency. AAI member (planning) A K Pathak released new website of AAIEG at an event at Safdarjung Airport’s AAI Officers Institute, Delhi.
Among those at the event were Pathak, AERA member D K Kamra, member HR H Srinivas, member operations Sharad Kumar and executive directors, general manager and engineers and members of AAIEG.
For outstanding achivement in airport engineering, AAIEG gave the Sir Visvesvaraya Award was given to project teams of Chennai, Port Blair and Hirasar (Rajkot) airports for completing project “despite adverse conditions.”
