About 99.42 lakh Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) beneficiaries in the State would be benefitted as they would be supplied free LPG refills over a period of three months from April to June.
Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced free distribution of Ujjwala gas recently.
This is part of the Union Government’s initiatives taken under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY) to alleviate the hardships faced by the poor due to economic disruption by coronavirus.
Booking of 1.26 crore cylinders has been done this month by PMUY beneficiaries, totalling 8 crore in the country, out of which about 85 lakh cylinders have been delivered.
