Due to heavy rains and resulting landslides, at least 91 roads are blocked in various parts of the State. The Pithoragarh district is the worst affected with at least 26 roads including four border roads leading to the Indo-China border region being blocked. Due to this, a number of villages have been left without road connection.
According to the information received from the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) on Wednesday evening, one national highway, one State highway, four border roads and 20 rural motor roads are blocked in Pithoragarh district.
The Tawaghat-Lipulekh road leading to the border with China is among the four border roads blocked in the district.The supply of rations and electricity to a number of villages has been disrupted in the district.
