In a disturbing incident, as many as 90 passengers on board a Bharat Gaurav Special train between Chennai and Palitana suffered food poisoning, as the train approached Pune railway station late on Tuesday.
The Pune rail officials were alerted to the situation at 10.45 pm. Ramdas Bhise, the Divisional Commercial Manager and PRO of the Pune rail division, told TOI, “This train had been booked by a private party for a pilgrimage-related tour to Palitana in Gujarat. It carried roughly 1,000 passengers. We were informed that many passengers experienced dizziness, abdominal pain, vomiting, and loose motions. In response, a team of doctors from the railway hospital, along with doctors from Ruby Hall and other railway officials, were sent to Pune station to provide medical assistance.”
