BELAGAVI: An eight-year-old girl and her grandparents died from electrocution in Belagavi on Saturday. The girl was the first to be electrocuted after she touched a water heating coil. When her grandparents tried to rescue her, they too were electrocuted.
APMC police are investigating the case. Preliminary reports suggest a short circuit in the electric water heater led to the electrocutions. Police have identified those killed as Irappa Lamani (50), Shantavva Lamani (45) and their granddaughter Annapoorna Lamani. All were from Arabenchi Tanda in Ramdurg taluk. Irappa and Shantavva were working as security guards at an under-construction building.
