AHMEDABAD: Landing at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) airport in Ahmedabad? Chances are you won’t have to wade through the queues and crowds at the arrivals area of the international terminal of the city airport. The airport operator on Thursday announced it has operationalized a larger immigration area with eight new counters at Terminal 2 for passengers as it inaugurated the new arrival hall at the terminal.
This new international arrival block features a host of improvements designed to ease passenger traffic and enhance the overall capacity. Spanning 2,550 square metre in area, the arrivals area will have 24 immigration counters, against 16 earlier. This will reduce the turnaround time for giving immigration clearance to passengers.
