A total of 71 rural roads will be built in Naxal affected areas of Jharkhand. The Union Home Ministry has given its in-principle approval for the construction of the roads in the State so that extremism could be prevented in the State.
After the approval of the road allocation of the Union Home Ministry, the Department of Rural Affairs, Government of Jharkhand has prepared a plan for the construction of 58 roads and 26 bridges and sent it to the Union Ministry of Rural Development for further action.
A meeting of the Pre-Employed Committee of the Union Ministry of Rural Development was held on December 21 for the scheme of road-bridge construction.
