Jammu and Kashmir Police has recovered 600 litres of black-marketed diesel from a shop in Balnoi village area of Mendhar in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Reports said that police officials raided a shop at Nar Balnoi and recovered 600 litres of diesel kept in plastic containers.
The shopkeeper identified as Mohammad Nassar, who escaped from the spot few minutes before the police raid, was reportedly selling the fuel among locals at high rates as the area located close to Line of Control is not having any petrol pump.
Police said that a case under relevant sections of law including essential commodities act has been registered and manhunt has been launched to nab the accused shopkeeper while investigation has also been started to ascertain the source of fuel.
