As many as 40 dhabas on National Highway-44 in Karnal district limits are running without the change of land use (CLU) permission. Most of them have direct access to the national highway and have no parking arrangements, due to which trucks and other vehicles are parked along the national highway, posing a serious threat to commuters.
As per the data of the Town and Country Planning Department, there are around 50 dhabas on a 52-km stretch in Karnal district on NH-44. Of these, around 40 do not have the CLU permission.
