The Gujarat government received four pollution complaints in the past two years against Russia-backed Nayara Energy Limited in Devbhumi Dwarka district, the Assembly was told Monday.
“In 2021, one complaint was received against Nayara Energy, while three others were received in 2022. Site visits were conducted and permissions given by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) were checked. A complaint was filed against this entity in the National Green Tribunal, which constituted a three-member committee.
In an order issued in 2022, a clean chit was given by NGT to the company,” said Mukesh Patel, Minister of State for Environment and Forests.
