MUMBAI: At least 35 electric bikes were charred after a fire broke out at a two-wheeler showroom in Virar (west) on Wednesday morning, before the place opened for business. No injuries were reported. .
The fire was noticed at ‘My Ride’ electric vehicle showroom at Dogharpada around 8.30 am. Firemen from Vasai-Virar civic body forced the shutter of the showroom open to douse the flames. Fire officials said a short circuit could have sparked the blaze.
While the vehicles were badly charred, the batteries did not explode. Furniture and other office equipment were also damaged.
