Chhattisgarh Power Companies’ chairman Shailendra Kumar Shukla claimed that till April 2019 around 26.50 lakh consumers of the state got benefits of the government’s move to slash power tariff by half.
It has also provided further relief to the consumers living below poverty line and other domestic users.
Shukla said that in the state more than 19.93 lakh BPL connections were provided.
Similarly, under the single-bulb free power distribution scheme, the limit of 30 units per family consumption has been retained but those beneficiaries consuming more than 30 units prescribed limit are being charged on the extra units consumed. But the bill generated is being reduced to half for the consumers.
