Emotions ran high as a special flight carrying around 25 students from Maharashtra who were stranded in riot-hit Manipur landed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Monday evening.
The students, who have been pursuing higher education degrees in various institutions in the northeastern state, and parents who were waiting for them thanked the state government for helping them to return home safely, according to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
Ronil Charles Nadar, a native of Mumbai’s Sion and is pursuing Master of Physical Education and Sports at the National Sports University (NSU), said, “We were safe inside the campus that was secured by CRPF forces.
