In a major step towards harnessing solar energy, the Puducherry government has installed photovoltaic solar panels on the rooftops of 22 government buildings in the coastal town.
Under the Solar City Project, the Renewable Energy Agency of Puducherry (REAP) had entered into an agreement with an agency for installing roof-top panels. The project aims to generate 950 kWp of power per day from the panels.
