MUMBAI: The Prime Minister’s Office will now monitor the Mumbai Urja Marg Limited (MUML) project, a major project backed by the Union power ministry and facilitated by MSETCL in Maharashtra, which is likely to bring 2000 MW of additional electricity to Mumbai by next year end.
Officials involved with the project told TOI on Friday that the PMO will now monitor, through Pragati portal, to “regularly review and help resolve key issues besides moving the project swiftly to commence operations by the end of 2023”. Once implemented, this project will drastically improve the power situation across Mumbai region.
The project has three elements in Maharashtra with each of them playing a vital role in transforming power scenarios – 400 KV Padgha-Kharghar transmission line, 400 KV Padgha-Navi Mumbai transmission line and 220 KV Apta-Taloja transmission line.
