As many as 111 people, including women, were arrested in Barsu-Solgaon village in Ratnagiri district Tuesday as hundreds of villagers continued with their protest with the state government starting the process of land survey to set up one of the biggest petrochemical refineries in the country. They were produced in Rajapur court from where they were released on bail.
The protesters were booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for rioting, unlawful assembly, wrongful restrain and disobedience to an order lawfully promulgated by a public servant, along with sections of Maharashtra Police Act.
