BENGALURU: Decongestion endeavours are set to turn Hebbal flyover, the city’s notorious bottleneck, into a mutli-modal transit hub. The multi-modal integration (MMI) is likely to see the establishment of one suburban rail and three Metro stations at the flyover.
Work is progressing on one Metro and the suburban railway stations, while one station is awaiting central approval. The fourth is still on the drawing board.
Under Metro’s Blue line (ORR-Hebbal-Kempegowda International Airport), Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is building a station near the BMTC depot located close to the junction. BMRCL is awaiting Centre’s approval for the Kempapura-JP Nagar 4th Phase line which includes a station at the flyover.
