NEW DELHI: The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) on Thursday inducted 100 electric low-floor buses into its fleet, taking the total of the number of such vehicles in operation to 400.
The buses are part of 1,500 low-floor electric buses that the government wants to add to its fleet. The total number of buses in Delhi, including DTC and cluster buses, has now gone up to 7,400.
The TOI had reported that these buses were parked for over a month at a DTC depot in Mayapuri, while the national capital grappled with a shortage of vehicles.
DTC sources had said these buses were not being made operational as a prototype had developed problems.
