NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has “bound down” another senior section engineer of Northern Railway in connection with the electrocution of a 35-year-old schoolteacher at New Delhi Railway Station on Sunday.
Police said engineer Gopal Kumar (37), who lives in Qutub Vihar, was asked to join the investigation and was bound down under CrPC section 41.1 A. He was told to appear before the investigating officer when summoned. He needs to inform police before leaving the city.
On Wednesday, the police had bound down senior section engineer Bharat Bhushan in the case.
Deputy commissioner of police (Railway) Apoorva Gupta said the police had found it was Kumar’s and Bhushan’s job to maintain the wiring and electric poles, which they failed to do.
